I'm Ron Moore and this is today's Bible Minute.
It's midnight and you just get to sleep when you hear someone knocking on the door. It's your neighbor and family from out of town just arrived and he'd like to borrow some of those steaks you've been bragging about. You tell him to get lost but he won't take "no" for an answer. Finally, you give in because he just won't go away.
Jesus told a similar story and finished up with these words in Luke 11:9. " So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."
Does this passage mean that if we are as audacious as that neighbor in the story God will always give us what we want? Not quite. But it does mean that as a loving Father, God will give you everything you need.
