God Is with Us

This is the Bible Minute.

Several hundred years before the birth of Christ, Israel's political, moral, military, and spiritual pillars were crumbling. The prophet Isaiah didn't hold back on God's words of judgment. However, his messages included the promise of hope.

It's this promise of Isaiah that Matthew refers to in his Gospel chapter 1:22-23. "All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 'The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel'--which means, 'God with us.'"

The Promise was not a politician, a military leader or religious leader. The Promise was Immanuel-- "God with us." Because through Jesus, God is with us forever!
