in Heaven New Life

I'm Ron Moore with today's Bible Minute.

Growing up, I remember hearing someone ask this evangelist where he was headed? And every time he would say, "I'm headed to Heaven. Just passing through town on my way." I always loved that line. It's a great description of the truth in today's passage.

Here it is in Philippians 3:20. "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ."

The believer is a stranger and sojourner on this earth. God has made us for eternal things not the shiny things that surround us. The reason we are so often dissatisfied with the stuff around us is because we were not made to be satisfied with the stuff around us.

Certainly our feet are planted on Earth--for now. There are bills to pay, and responsibilities that only we can fulfill. But don't get too comfortable here!
