Tuesday: Ephesians 3 How would you describe the mystery in 3:1-6? What does Paul say is his ministry (3:7-13)? What does he pray about in 3:14-19? Do you pray about these things? Why or why not? What do you think you could do if you developed a passion for God like Paul's? Wednesday: Ephesians 4:1-16 How are you supposed to walk (4:1-3)? What does that look like in your life today? What is the purpose of the different gifts or ministries (4:11-16)? What would you say you're doing to "grow up into Christ"? Thursday: Ephesians 4:17-32 When your life is changed by Christ, what are you to put off (4:17-22)? What do you put on instead (4:23-24)? In 4:25-32, we see the new self in action; which of these things are happening in your life? What needs more help from the Holy Spirit? Friday: Ephesians 5:1-21 How would you describe Christ's love for you (5:1-2)? Paul writes about walking in love (5:2-8), in light (5:8-14) and in wisdom ( 5:15-21); what characteristics of each walk stand out to you? What evidence is there in your life that you walk in love? In light? In wisdom? Saturday: Ephesians 5:22-6:9 What is our model for love and submission (5:22-33)? What are the responsibilities of children and parents (6:1-4)? What do you learn about service and authority (6:5-9)? How do you think you live out these attitudes in your family? In your workplace? What would you like to see change? Sunday: Ephesians 6:10-24 What are you given to be "strong in the Lord" (6:10-18)? How do you use this armor in the battle you're fighting today? Who is the battle fought against (6:12-16)? What is the role of prayer (6:18-20)? His blood brought them in; He is the peace that breaks down the walls; He reconciles Gentile and Jew into one body. What's the new condition of the Gentiles who believe (2:18-21)? They have access to the Father, no longer strangers but fellow citizens, part of the household of God, growing together. Tuesday: Ephesians 3 Questions with Answers: What does Paul say is his ministry (3:7-13)? To present the Gospel, especially to the Gentiles so they could share in the riches and wisdom of God, and have access to Him through faith in Jesus. What does he pray about in 3:14-19? That believers be strengthened through the power of the Holy Spirit; that Christ live in their hearts; that they grow in love and understanding; that they are filled with the fullness of God. He also prays for God to receive the glory for all these things. Wednesday: Ephesians 4:1-16 Questions with Answers: How are you supposed to walk (4:1-3)? In a manner worthy of the calling Of Christ; in humility, gentleness, patience, bearing with others in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in peace. What is the purpose of the different gifts or ministries (4:11-16)? To build up the body of Christ, to attain unity in faith and knowledge, to develop towards maturity and stability. Thursday: Ephesians 4:17-32 Questions with Answers: When your life is changed by Christ, what are you to put off (4:17-22)? Futility, ignorance, a hard heart, callousness, sensuality, greed, impurity, corruption, deceitful desires. What do you put on instead (4:23-24)? A renewed mind, true righteousness and holiness, in the likeness of God. Friday: Ephesians 5:1-21 Questions with Answers: Due to the nature of these questions, we have not provided answers for you. Saturday: Ephesians 5:22-6:9 Questions with Answers: What is our model for love and submission (5:22-33)? Jesus Christ, who loves sacrificially, who sanctifies and cleanses His bride (the church), who cherishes and nourishes her. What are the responsibilities of children and parents (6:1-4)? A child is to obey and honor, a father (parent) is to instruct and discipline, not provoke. What do you learn about service and authority (6:5-9)? Our service is to be done as if we're serving Christ, done with good will; authority is not to be used as a threat but under the authority of God. Sunday: Ephesians 6:10-24 Questions with Answers: What are you given to be "strong in the Lord" (6:10-18)? The might and whole armor of God: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. Who is the battle fought against (6:12-16)? The rulers, authorities, cosmic powers and spiritual forces of evil, and the evil one. What is the role of prayer (6:18-20)? It is in the Spirit, keeps us alert, makes supplication (intercedes) for others in the battle. |
