Family Quest
Pull out markers, crayons, and paper. Instruct your child to draw a picture of himself playing with his best friend. At the bottom of the paper, help him write three things he likes most about his friend. (Plan on giving the artwork to your child’s friend.)
Talk It Out
· What do you enjoy doing most with your friend? (Encourage your child to
talk about his picture and articulate why he likes the person he drew.)
· When we’re friends with people, we have a relationship with them. What
does the word relationship mean?
· What does it mean to have a relationship with Jesus? In what ways is He our best friend?
Parent-Child Connection
Everyone needs to be wanted. We all get excited when someone goes out of their way to get to know us. As we read in the Bible, God wants to know us. He wants us to want Him as much as He wants us. He is the best Friend any of us could ever have. All we have to do is accept His friendship. It’s good for your child to know that he is wanted by the King of kings!
Talk to God
As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for being so big and mighty and (2) ask the Lord to help him appreciate what He has done for him.
