Family Quest
Pull out paper, markers, and crayons and have your child engage in a creative assignment: “Draw something powerful or list some things you think of as powerful.”
Talk It Out
· What did you think of as powerful?
· Do you know anything powerful enough to raise someone from the dead?
· God is all-powerful. He raised Jesus from the dead, and He wants you to have His power in your life. What would you want God to help you with today?
Parent-Child Connection
This conversation will probably include a question from your child that sounds like this: “If God is all-powerful, why can’t He heal everyone and make all of the bad stuff go away?” This is a good opportunity to discuss the reality of living in a broken world. This world is not perfect, and things will never be the way we wish they were. But God wants to help us through it. He cares for us and uses His power to offer us an eternity with Him. He overcame death for us. Now that’s a good use of power!
Talk to God
As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for being all-powerful and (2) ask God to show His power in some specific way.
