Family Quest
Head into the kitchen for some family time. Roll out some cookie dough and have your child shape it into the symbols for alpha and omega. If you don’t know what these symbols look like, stop and do a little research together to find out.
Talk It Out
· What are “alpha” and “omega”?
· What does Jesus mean when He says He is the “Alpha and Omega”?
· Is anyone else “alpha” and/or “omega”?
· What does this tell us about Jesus’ ability to provide for us?
Parent-Child Connection
Today’s topic may seem like a rather large concept to discuss with your children. But seeing God as the Alpha and Omega speaks to His true identity and will help them begin to form a better understanding of who He is. It’s okay if you can’t fully explain this description to them. Some things are too big for any of us to totally understand. It’s fine to let your kids know that a little mystery is okay. Our lack of understanding doesn’t take anything away from God’s character. It helps us to grasp the reality that He is bigger and more brilliant than we could ever understand.
Talk to God
As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for all the things He provides for us and (2) ask the Lord to help her to trust Jesus to provide everything needed.
