Family Quest
Help your children understand what the word consistent means. Make a list of the things you do every day in the same way. Make another list of all the things in your life that constantly change.
Talk It Out
· How does it make you feel when things change?
· How does knowing that Jesus does not change make you feel?
· In what way can we be consistent just like Jesus? (Praying regularly, reading God’s Word, showing love to others.)
Parent-Child Connection
Some younger kids may have a hard time distinguishing between being consistent and never changing. God’s character never changes. He always loves us and is working to bring us closer to Him. But the ways in which He does this may change from situation to situation. It is important to help kids understand this so they don’t become frustrated later in life because God is not interacting with them like He has in the past.
Talk to God
As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus that He never changes and (2) ask the Lord to help him feel His presence especially when he must face change.
