Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

HEBREWS 2:18

Family Quest

Play a game of Pass or Tell. Write down several different scenarios that include temptations. For example, “You are in a store and your friend wants you to steal a bag of chips. What do you do?” Cut them out and place them in a hat. Have each person pull out a scenario and read it out loud. Then that person must answer how she would handle the situation. You can even include some of the times you have been tempted in life.

Talk It Out

· Is everyone tempted? How often?

· How does Jesus rescue you when you are tempted?

· How do we know what God wants us to do? (Read 1 Corinthians 10:13.)

Parent-Child Connection

Kids love to learn new things about their parents. The game and discussion above have the potential for a great interaction between you and your kids. Try not to make them feel like they are being tested. You want them to speak freely and ask questions. Help them to know that God is always ready to rescue them from any mistake or difficult situation.

Talk to God

As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for being so big and mighty and (2) ask the Lord to help him appreciate what He has done for him.
