Try watching a television show or movie that’s in a different language. Turn off all closed-captioning and subtitles and see if you can follow the story line.

· Why does God understand you better than anyone else ever could?
Parent-Child Connection
During today’s lesson, impart some practical advice that your children will be able to use all throughout their lives. Whenever they encounter a passage of scripture or Christian doctrine that they don’t understand, encourage them to take these two steps: (1) Ask God for His wisdom and direction, and then (2) research the passage. Explain that the Holy Spirit can guide and direct us in various ways but doesn’t usually provide concrete information about a subject. Therefore, we must do the hard work of research alongside the Spirit’s subtler guidance. How we research a confusing passage or unclear theology depends on the particular issue we don’t understand. Sometimes we should talk to a trusted expert, such as a pastor or a Christian teacher. Sometimes we must head to the library and study a book by a Christian author. However, use caution when doing Google searches and pulling information off the Internet. Make sure the site you visit is trustworthy.
Talk to God
As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for being so big and mighty and (2) ask the Lord to help him appreciate what He has done for him.
