in Holy Spirit Service/Servanthood

Hey I'm Ron Moore with the Bible Minute.

Before He returned to heaven, Jesus left us with some parting words found here in Acts 1:8. Jesus said, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

This is, or should be, the believer's determined purpose. But I sometimes get it backwards. When my relationship with God grows stale, I convince myself that spiritual performance will freshen up my walk. But notice what precedes our action--the power of the Holy Spirit. Attempts at obedience without God's power leads to legalism and staleness. So, let's not charge ahead before we recharge.
