The Big Doer

in Obedience/Discipleship Service/Servanthood

Hey this is Ron Moore with today's Bible Minute.

When you hear the words "Big Talker"--the phrase describes a person who is full of stories of accomplishment, but little to show that he has actually gotten anything done.

It's this kind of person James had in mind when he wrote the following in James 1:27. "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

God is looking for people whose spirituality produces more than just big talk. "Pure and faultless" religion, James said, is religion that puts love into action by looking after people in distress.
