Purpose of Salvation

in Heaven

Do you know the purpose of your salvation? Here's the Bible Minute.

The purpose of your salvation is not just to get you to heaven. The purpose of your salvation is to give you works – special assignments if you will, so you can serve the Lord all your days here on earth.

God created us to do good works. He has a lifetime of good works for each of us to do, and He’ll reward us according to whether or not we do them. Hebrews 6:10 tells us, "God is not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love that you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them."

So, rewards are God's way of simply saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord." (Matthew 25:23) Rewards are important to us because they confirm our salvation. (You can't get rewards unless you do the work that the Lord gives you after you've been saved.) So, what is God calling you to do for Him today?
