Family Quest
Ask your child to draw a picture of God longing for His people. Have her show how He waits for them as they make both good and bad decisions.
Talk It Out
· How long will God wait on you to obey Him?
· Do you make Him happy or sad?
· Is He quick to forgive you? How does it make Him feel when you seek Him?
Parent-Child Connection
Patience is a hard trait to possess regardless of age. Most of the examples you come up with while discussing patience with your child may be about the times when you were impatient. And since children haven’t had all of the practice of adults, being patient is even harder for them. That is what makes God’s patience so much more amazing. He continues to love and pursue us throughout our lives. This is a great opportunity for you to teach your child to be thankful for God’s long-suffering.
Talk to God
As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for His patience and (2) ask the Lord to help her obey Him.
