Read Hebrews 6:10-12
"For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises."
Reflect
What are some ways that you serve God?
When we serve others, share the gospel, or offer hope and help, we get a chance to join Jesus in what He is doing--drawing people to Himself and extending His kingdom. Here are some ways to experience and see Jesus in your everyday life.
Look at unexpected happenings, interruptions to your schedule, and invitations to serve. When we respond with a servant's heart and offer the Lord all we have and are, He can take our little offering and multiply it. Or as my friend Fern Nichols told me once, "We do the small obedience and God does the grand thing."
Whether it is serving the poor, speaking, teaching a group of kids, leading a women's ministry, loving your neighbor or family, or working in a job, remember who your source of life is and point people to Him. Give God the credit as people are blessed. It's all His plan, and He lets us partner with Him in doing our part. Jesus said, "This is what my Father wants: that anyone who sees the Son and trusts who he is and what he does and then aligns with him will enter real life, eternal life. My part is to put them on their feet alive and whole at the completion of time" (John 6:40 MSG). Ask the Lord, "What's my part?"
Pray
Lord Jesus, help me to follow Your lead and serve others in Your name. Amen.
