“However, the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands. As the prophet says: ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me? says the Lord. Or where will my resting place be? Has not my hand made all these things?’ ”

Family Quest

Draw a picture of what you think heaven looks like. Now discuss how you think it will feel to be there.

Talk It Out

· Where is heaven? (Why can God see us, but we can’t see Him?)

· How can we go to heaven?

· Who else is in heaven?

Parent-Child Connection

From an early age, most people have formed an idea of what heaven is like. Most of our images come from movies and books. And for those who attend Sunday school, there are some correct images as well. But all we know of heaven is what we can learn from the Bible. It is our source for what to expect. Help your kids to marvel at the unknown aspects of heaven. We don’t know the specifics of how it will all work. But we do know that we get to be in the presence of God for eternity. And that will be more amazing than anything we could ever dream up.

Talk to God

As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for making a place like heaven and (2) ask the Lord for help to think more often about Him throughout the day.
