From: 101 Ways to Strengthen the Parent‐Child Connection

Devotions, Tips, and Activities

By: Michael and Tiffany Ross

For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

PSALM 100:5

Family Quest

Play a game of Simon Says. As the parent, give commands that are simple and fun. But give a lot of commands without saying, “Simon Says,” too. Make them wait for a command where they can move around.

Talk It Out

· Was it hard to wait for a command where you could move around?

· Do you like to wait? Why or why not?

· In what ways does God wait for us?

· Do you think God likes to wait?

Parent-Child Connection

No one likes to be without power. Even in a simple game of Simon Says, your kids will probably want to have their turn at giving the commands. Even though God has all the power in the universe, He waits for us. He always has throughout time. He even helped Adam and Eve after they sinned. And He continues to wait for us today. Help your kids appreciate God’s faithfulness.

Talk to God

As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for His abounding love and (2) ask the Lord to help him show more patience toward others.
