Salvation

Published 8/15/19

By: Michael and Tiffany Ross

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

Family Quest

Have everyone in the family name their favorite “superhero” and describe a time when their hero saved someone’s life. Why did they remember that particular “salvation”?

Talk It Out

· How can Jesus save you?

· What is He saving you from?

· Can anyone else save you from evil?

· How can you help others be saved?

Parent-Child Connection

Even children know that the world isn’t fair. Sometimes the good guys don’t win. Other times we get things we don’t deserve. And even if kids don’t fully understand it, they know that we live in a broken world. This brokenness separates us from God. He is so pure and clean that He cannot be in union with those who are not. And since we live in this world, there is no way we can be holy through our own power. So we need His forgiveness and salvation in order to be right with Him. And it is this salvation that He offers to us. He has already paid the price. Help your child to know that the salvation God offers is the only true way to be whole and happy.

Talk to God

As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for being so big and mighty and (2) ask the Lord to help him appreciate what He has done for him.
