Security

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Family Quest

We all need a place we can go to rest and know that everything’s going to be okay. Spend some time talking about safe places: our homes, churches, schools.

Talk It Out

· What makes a safe place safe?

· How does Jesus comfort us and help us feel safe?

· Read Philippians 4:6–7. Talk about God’s solution for worrying.

Parent-Child Connection

We try to find security in many things. We protect our children from the bad guys by watching over them and providing them with a safe home. We depend on home security systems, cell phones, 911, teachers, the police, churches, and many other systems in our lives. And these are good people and organizations who care for others. But they can never offer the complete and eternal security of God. He is the only One who can bring peace into our hearts. He is the only One who offers us an eternity in heaven. Teach your kids to seek Him—the only path to real security.

Talk to God

As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for being so big and mighty and (2) ask the Lord to help him appreciate what He has done for him.
