Sovereign

For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.

Family Quest

Take a walk in your yard and/or garden and look at all of the different plants that are growing. If it is wintertime, visit a local nursery or a botanical garden.

Talk It Out

· How do the seeds know how to grow?

· How do we know God controls (through His sovereignty) all of creation?

· How is Jesus sovereign over you? Do you see this as a good thing? Why?

Parent-Child Connection

God is sovereign even if we do not accept Him as our Savior. Our understanding, or lack of understanding, does not change the character of God. It only changes how we see and interact with Him. His sovereignty is a fact. And He gives us the chance to open our eyes and recognize Him, or walk through life with blinders on. Encourage your kids to “see” God in our amazing world.

Talk to God

As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for being so big and mighty and (2) ask the Lord to help him appreciate what He has done for him.
