Devotions, Tips, and Activities

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

JOHN 14:6

Family Quest

Read John 14:5–14. Emphasize that committing our lives to Jesus Christ is the only way to live with Him in heaven. Make sure your child understands that Jesus and God are one. Next, have your child write a short note, thanking Jesus for being our way to the heavenly Father.

Talk It Out

· How many ways are there to the Father?

· How do we learn what’s true? (Answer: By reading the Bible)

· How is Jesus the Way? The Truth? The Life?

Parent-Child Connection

Identifying Jesus as the one true way is significant. Your kids live in the same world as we adults. We know there are many voices out there that make very different claims about who we are and who God is. Children are very impressionable. They take in a lot of information as they begin to form their worldview. The key is not to lock them away from the world. The best approach is to discuss God’s true identity in an open and honest environment. This will help your kids to discern new information as they move forward in life.

Talk to God

As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for being so big and mighty and (2) ask the Lord to help him appreciate what He has done for him.
