And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

EPHESIANS 1:22–23

Family Quest

Life can get crazy. People and circumstances can be scary, but we can be confident that God is in control! To help you remember this, make a Bible bookmark. Pull out your construction paper, scissors, markers, glitter, and glue. Write the following on your bookmark: “I trust the Bible: Jesus Christ rules!” (Ephesians 1:22).

Talk It Out

· What kinds of things scare you?

· The Bible says God has “placed all things under [Jesus’] feet.” That means He is in charge of everything. How does it make you feel knowing that He is in control?

· What does this tell us about Jesus’ ability to take care of us?

Parent-Child Connection

Encourage your kids to explore the Bible on their own. Let them pick any passage and then discuss it with them. This may lead to some very interesting conversations as you talk about some of the challenges that people faced in the Bible. This exercise will help kids see that everyone throughout time has had to deal with some difficult situations. God helped them just like He will help us. The Bible offers us an amazing history of God’s faithfulness to His people.

Talk to God

As you pray, encourage your child to (1) thank Jesus for His authority and (2) ask the Lord for more faith, especially when life feels scary.
