READ
1 John 5:20
20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.
Throughout the Bible one reads of many false gods to whom people bow down. The way believers live in fellowship with the true God is by trusting in Jesus as Savior and living in fellowship with Him. All others not in right relationship with Jesus are not in right relationship with the true God. The dividing line separating these two groups has to do with those who believe in Jesus and those who do not.
REFLECT
Does this help you see the division of the world’s population into two parts—those who are rightly related to Jesus and those who are not? There is no middle ground.
RESPOND
To become more focused on presenting the way of salvation to others, you and your disciple need to read and discuss passages such as John 14:6; Acts 4:12, as well as this passage in 1 John 5.
