READ
1 John 2:20-21
20 But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit, and all of you know the truth. 21 So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies.
“The Holy One” refers to Jesus who has given the Holy Spirit to believers in Jesus. This is not promising that believers know “all” truth, but that they have the capacity to receive truth and distinguish it from error. This is important because many false teachers, whom John referred to as antichrists, are in the world. John wrote this to remind believers to continue distinguishing between truth and lies.
REFLECT
Think of it! As a believer in Christ, you have received the Holy Spirit who gives you the capacity to distinguish truth from error.
RESPOND
Read Romans 8:9 that says all believers possess the Holy Spirit, Read also 1 Timothy 4:1-5 that tells about deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.
