READ
1 John 2:28-29
28 And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame. 29 Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children.
Believers are urged not to shrink back in shame but to be full of courage when Jesus returns. Notice how closely connected doing what is “right” is with being “righteous.” God is perfectly righteous because He always does what is right. Therefore, one of the marks of a believer is doing what is right because in this way God is being imitated.
REFLECT
Think about the importance of always wanting to do what is right. This in an indication that the Holy Spirit in you is nudging you to imitate God.
RESPOND
Read Ephesians 4:23-24 to see what the apostle Paul told believers. Talk with your disciple about this.
