1 John – Week 5 – Day 2

READ 

1 John 3:7-8 

7 Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. 8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. 

How does one tell if another person is right with God? No one can see motives but actions can be observed. If a person keeps on doing that which dishonors God then there is no indication that person is a child of God. Be careful, however, about using cultural backgrounds to determine what is right and wrong. Only the Bible can be the safe guide. 

REFLECT 

As others watch your life, do they see one who is concerned about living to please God? You will never be perfect in this life, but you can make it your desire to please Jesus in all you do.
