READ
1 John 3:21-22
21 Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22 And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.
Guilt is something that needs to be faced in each believer’s life. The person who feels guilty cannot approach God with confidence. This will be revealed in his witness and prayer life. If one is living to please God, however, he may be assured that God will answer his prayers. The Bible refers to God answering those things that are according to His will.
REFLECT
Have you analyzed your prayer life lately to think about what you are asking God for? Your loved ones no doubt have many needs, but think about praying for those eternal matters that are God’s will for your loved ones and others.
RESPOND
Examine some verses together as you consider praying about what will be answered because it is according to God’s will. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:18; 1 John 5:14; and 2 Peter 3:9.
