1 John – Week 6 – Day 4

READ 

1 John 3:23-24 

23 And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us. 24 Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us. 

John refers to two key commandments when he mentions believing in Jesus and loving each other. Those who say they love God but do not love fellow believers are not living the truth. Every believer in Jesus has the Holy Spirit living within. Romans 8:9 makes it clear if one does not have the Holy Spirit, that individual is not a believer.  

REFLECT 

Thank the Lord that the Holy Spirit lives in you to replicate His life through you. Others will see His characteristics as you live in fellowship with the Lord Jesus, by believing in Him and loving others.
