READ
1 Thessalonians 1:4-5
4 We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. 5 For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you.
How encouraging it must have been to the believers for Paul to remind them that God had chosen them to be His own! In case they had any doubts about the concern that Paul, Silas and Timothy had for them, Paul reminded them of the way they had lived among the believers in Thessalonica. Paul and his companions gave testimony not only with words but also by their lives.
REFLECT
Think of how others view you. They know the words you say; are they also impacted by your life?
RESPOND
Sometimes people can think they are misfits in their own earthly family. With your disciple, read Ephesians 1:5-7 to see how special every believer in Jesus is to the heavenly Father. Think about being accepted into the family of God.
