READ
1 Thessalonians 2:7-8
7 As apostles of Christ we certainly had a right to make some demands of you, but instead we were like children among you. Or we were like a mother feeding and caring for her own children. 8 We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.
Paul described the way he and his companions lived and acted among the Thessalonian believers. He pictured the tenderness with which they treated the believers as a nursing mother of her own children. No analogy could be more tender. Paul, Silas and Timothy had not only shared the gospel with them but even their lives. Nothing was held back in wanting the best for these in Thessalonica.
REFLECT
Does this help you to realize that sharing the gospel involves more than just words; it includes your life?
RESPOND
Talk with your friend about the extent that both of you are sharing your lives along with the gospel as you seek to introduce others to Jesus.
