1 Thessalonians 2:9-10
9 Don’t you remember, dear brothers and sisters, how hard we worked among you? Night and day we toiled to earn a living so that we would not be a burden to any of you as we preached God’s Good News to you. 10 You yourselves are our witnesses—and so is God—that we were devout and honest and faultless toward all of you believers.
Paul reminded the believers in Thessalonica how he and his companions worked to provide for their own living so they would not be a burden to others. Paul reminded them that they and God were witnesses of three things about him, Silas and Timothy: 1) they were devout; 2) they were honest; and 3) they were faultless. This is how they lived before the believers.
REFLECT
As others view your life, do they see the same three things the Thessalonian believers saw in Paul, Silas and Timothy?
RESPOND
The lifestyle of a believer is important in sharing the gospel with others. How do you and your disciple line up in regard to what Paul mentioned? Talk about this and encourage each other about these matters.
