1 Thessalonians – Week 3 – Day 2

1 Thessalonians 2:13 

13 Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God—which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe. 

The believers in Thessalonica had really etched themselves on the hearts of Paul, Silas and Timothy. So these who brought the gospel to them could not stop thanking God for them. The spiritual bond was formed as the Thessalonians received the gospel message as if it was directly from God, not just the words of men.  

REFLECT 

As you hear the Bible taught, are you receiving it as the words of God Himself, or just the words of men? The Bible is the only book God has inspired to be written. 

RESPOND 

Focus on 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and 2 Peter 1:19-21 to be reminded of God moving on the hearts of human writers to record what He wanted them to. A copy of the Bible today is like having God’s love letter in your hands.
