1 Thessalonians 3:11-13
11 May God our Father and our Lord Jesus bring us to you very soon. 12 And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows. 13 May he, as a result, make your hearts strong, blameless, and holy as you stand before God our Father when our Lord Jesus comes again with all his holy people. Amen.
Paul’s prayers were specific: he wanted God to enable him to visit the Thessalonian believers again; he wanted God to make their love for others grow and overflow; he wanted God to make their hearts strong, blameless and holy. All of this was in view of when they would meet Jesus face to face. Realizing one will meet Jesus someday causes a difference in the way life is lived.
REFLECT
Have you thought about meeting Jesus face to face? This will influence the way you live. Only the assurance of your trust in Him as your Savior will give you peace as you think about meeting Him.
RESPOND
No one knows when death may occur. Also, it is sobering to remember that someday everyone will be in eternity. One needs to prepare now. Talk about this and use these thoughts as you share your faith with others. Read 2 Corinthians 6:1-3 to be reminded that today is the day of salvation. Urge others not to put it off until it is eternally too late.
