READ
1 Thessalonians 4:13
13 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.
Believers in Thessalonica were unsure about what happens to Christ-followers who have died. Paul told them so they would not grieve “like people who have no hope.” He did not say believers would have no grief for a loved one who died, but they would not grieve as those who did not know Jesus as Savior.
REFLECT
If you have lost a loved one, you know it involves grief. If that loved one had believed in Jesus, however, there is no need to grieve as those who do not know the Savior.
RESPOND
Those who live without God are living without hope. With your friend, read Ephesians 2:11-13 to see the contrast of the person without hope and the one united to Christ.
