1 Thessalonians – Week 6 – Day 3

1 Thessalonians 4:15 

15 We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. 

Apparently those followers of Christ to whom Paul was writing thought believers who had died would not see Jesus as quickly as they would. Paul assured them that believers living at the time of the rapture would not see Jesus before the bodies of dead believers would be resurrected and united with their soul and spirit.  

REFLECT 

Think of this wonderful assurance about loved ones who have passed away after believing in Jesus as Savior. 

RESPOND 

The apostle Paul had received direct revelation from the Lord. Read 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 to see what Jesus told him about what is commonly called the Lord’s Supper.
