READ
1 Thessalonians 5:7-8
7 Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. 8 But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.
Paul’s comments about how to be protected is a reminder of the armor he had written about to the Ephesian believers. Faith is directed toward God; love is directed toward others. The helmet of salvation is important for everyone. It is possessed only by believers in Jesus as Savior. Believers should be alert and not be like those who have had their senses dulled by alcohol.
REFLECT
Is your trust in Jesus? If so, this will enable you to love others as He has loved you. When you are aware of your own need for forgiveness, you will be more likely to forgive others of their faults.
RESPOND
Read Ephesians 4:31-32 and 6:13-17 to learn about forgiving others and the armor for the spiritual warfare believers are presently in.
