1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
9 For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. 10 Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. 11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
Some Bible interpreters believe the Church will go through the 70th Week of Daniel, also known as the “Seven-year Tribulation.” Others believe passages such as verse 9 reveal the Church will be kept from the wrath to come when the Antichrist is reigning over the world and many, if not most, believers will die for their faith. Paul wanted a message passed on that would encourage other believers.
REFLECT
Are you following Paul’s instructions to encourage and build up other believers? Some may be in desperate need of your encouragement.
RESPOND
With your disciple, read Colossians 3:12-17 to see how the believer should live and treat others. Everything should be done to please the Lord Jesus Christ.
