READ
1 Thessalonians 5:23-25
23 Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. 24 God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful. 25 Dear brothers and sisters, pray for us.
Paul calls the heavenly Father “the God of peace.” Paul wanted believers to live in such a way no one could point at them and say, “You have done wrong and you didn’t admit it”—they were to be blameless. They could count on God’s enablement for this because God is faithful. Paul believed he and his companions were dependent on the prayers of believers—and he had confidence their prayers made a difference or he would not have asked them to pray.
REFLECT
