1 Timothy – Week 3 – Day 5

1 Timothy 2:15 

15 But women will be saved through childbearing, assuming they continue to live in faith, love, holiness, and modesty. 

Some believe this verse refers to the woman eventually being involved in the virgin birth of Jesus. Others believe the word “saved” refers to her position in the church being saved. If they live as Paul has written, the women involved contribute significantly to the church fellowship. Mothers bear and model for their sons how they should grow to be godly husbands and fathers and how daughters should grow to be godly wives and mothers.  

REFLECT 

Think of what your mother modeled for you. No one is perfect so do not expect that of her. Consider, however, what she went through in bringing you into the world and raising you the best she knew how regarding the way to live. 

RESPOND 

With your disciple, read 2 Timothy 1:5 to see how Timothy was influenced by his grandmother and mother. On the other hand, remember that those without godly parents have also been used to serve God. Abraham’s father was an idol worshiper (see Joshua 24:2).
