1 Timothy – Week 5 – Day 3

READ 

1 Timothy 3:12-13  

12 A deacon must be faithful to his wife, and he must manage his children and household well. 13 Those who do well as deacons will be rewarded with respect from others and will have increased confidence in their faith in Christ Jesus. 

Having mentioned the women, Paul now returns to instructions about the deacons. Each is to be a faithful husband and able to manage his household well. Paul also speaks of the rewards for the deacon: respect from others and greater boldness in sharing his faith in Jesus. The service itself, would aid in spiritually maturing them.  

REFLECT 

Has your service for Jesus, whatever it has been, given you greater boldness in sharing your faith? 

RESPOND 

Consider what the apostle Peter wrote in 1 Peter 3:13-17 about sharing your faith and living with a clear conscience. Make this your goal.
