READ
1 Timothy 3:16
16 Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.
A “mystery” in the Scriptures has to do with something not previously revealed but is now being revealed. These expressions in 1 Timothy 3:16 may have come from an excerpt of a hymn in the early church whose lyrics told about the life of Christ. Paul was guided by inspiration in selecting what was true. The progression goes from His incarnation when He took on human flesh (see Philippians 2:6-8) to the time He was taken up into glory at His ascension (see Acts 1:9-11).
