1 Timothy – Week 7 – Day 4

1 Timothy 4:16 

16 Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you. 

Paul was concerned about how his mentee, Timothy, would live the Christian life as he led others. Paul wanted Timothy to watch how he lived and what he taught. Timothy was to remember his own salvation and how he became right with God by grace through faith in Jesus. Timothy was to teach others the same way of salvation. 

REFLECT 

Think of how you became right with God by placing your faith in Jesus. Consider explaining your experience to others so they might know they can come to God in the same way. 

RESPOND 

With a fellow believer, review the way one becomes right with God. Check such verses as John 3:16-18; Romans 5:1-2; 8:1; Ephesians 2:8-9. Be prepared to share these truths with others.
