1 Timothy – Week 8 – Day 3

READ 

1 Timothy 5:8 

8 But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers. 

Many things have changed over the centuries, but this verse seems to apply for all time. God instituted the family before He did the Church, so the local churches should still carry out God’s plans for the family. There are unbelievers who see the need to care for their needy family members, so it should be evidenced in the lives of those who are Christ-followers. 

REFLECT 

Do you have a needy family member who could use your help? You may not be able to do much, but you should do what you can.  

RESPOND 

Do you and your family need to have a meeting to decide what can be done for an elderly family member needing help? Ask God to give you wisdom in what should be done.
