2 Peter – Week 1 – Day 2

2 Peter 1:2 

2 May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. 

Peter wanted God’s grace and peace multiplied to his readers. Notice how this takes place: “as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.” We are left now to read the Scriptures to grow in the knowledge of God and the Lord Jesus. The Bible is the only book God has inspired so it is the only authoritative way to grow in one’s knowledge of the Father and the Son. 

REFLECT 

Do you wonder where the local church fits into this? It accomplishes the goal by teaching the Bible to those attending.  

RESPOND 

Back to the Bible has surveyed thousands of people and has found that those growing spiritually are those engaged in the Bible by reading or listening to it at least four times a week. Visit with a friend about being sure you are doing this. Such a habit will change behaviors and temptations.
