READ
2 Peter 1:5-7
5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
Peter tells believers to do the above because God has given them everything they need to live a godly life. Notice how one thing builds on another. These graces should be evident in a believer’s life. God has made it possible because He has provided everything a believer needs to live a godly life.
REFLECT
How does your faith measure up to these things that are to be added to it?
RESPOND
These instructions from the apostle Peter are similar to what the apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 5:22-23. See also what the apostle John wrote in John 13:35. Read these verses with a friend and measure your lives by them.
