READ
2 Peter 3:17-18
17 You already know these things, dear friends. So be on guard; then you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. 18 Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.
These are the final words in Peter’s second letter. He warned his readers to be on guard and not be misled by false teachers. He encouraged them to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” For those readers today, this can be done by being engaged in the Scriptures by reading or listening at least four times a week. Peter ended with a doxology: “All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.”
REFLECT
Have you been caused to lose your secure footing by some teaching that sounded good but was not what the Scripture teaches?
RESPOND
With a friend, commit to each other to be engaged in the Bible at least four times a week. Perhaps you can agree to read one of the four gospels and meet together occasionally to discuss what you have learned.
