Constant Reminder
READ
2 Peter 1:12-13
12 Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught. 13 And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live.
Occasionally Christians do not think they need to hear a Bible portion taught to them again. This passage reveals believers need to be reminded of the truths in God’s Word. The apostle Peter planned to keep reminding them of these truths as long as he lived.
REFLECT
Be thankful whenever you hear the Word of God taught even if it is by another person than you have heard previously. God pours His Word through lives in different ways.
RESPOND
Moses was not permitted to enter the Promised Land. Before the people entered, Moses spoke to them what is recorded in Deuteronomy. This book reiterates the law given to them by God (the word “Deuteronomy” means “second law”). See Deuteronomy 5 for the same commandments found in Exodus 20. Moses believed the people needed to be reminded of God’s instructions.
