Words to Remember

2 Peter 1:14-15 

14 For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life,15 so I will work hard to make sure you always remember these things after I am gone. 

It had been several years since Jesus told Peter what kind of death he would die (see John 21:18-19). Peter realized now that he was nearing the end of his life and wanted to keep reminding his readers of the eternal truths he had taught them. 

REFLECT 

Have you had grandparents who faithfully prayed for you and reminded you of spiritual truths they did not want you to forget? 

RESPOND 

Talk with a friend about what eternal truths you want to leave with your loved ones. When your obituary is written, what spiritual truth do you want it to reflect? Make a list of some key points.
