2 Peter 2:9-11
9 So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. 10 He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at supernatural beings without so much as trembling. 11 But the angels, who are far greater in power and strength, do not dare to bring from the Lord a charge of blasphemy against those supernatural beings.
If you are caught in a trial, you need to remember the Lord knows how to rescue you from it. He does that for the godly while reserving the wicked for judgment. The false teachers Peter referred to are “proud and arrogant.” They even disregard supernatural beings, the same thing the Sadducees did in the time Jesus was on earth. They joke about spiritual realities.
REFLECT
Reflect your love for Jesus by refusing to make light of realities such as heaven and hell.
RESPOND
Visit with a friend about how to detect false teaching. It would be a person who does not believe what the Scriptures teach about Jesus: His virgin birth, His substitutionary death on the cross, His resurrection from the dead, and His coming again.
