READ
2 Peter 2:19-20
19 They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you. 20 And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before.
Peter continued telling about the false teachers. They are really “slaves of sin and corruption.” Those who believe in Jesus and then become a slave of sin again are “worse off than before.” Those responsible in misleading them will face serious consequences when they stand to give account to Jesus.
REFLECT
Strive in any way you can not to be drug back to the lifestyle you had before you trusted in Jesus.
RESPOND
There are degrees of punishment based on works for unbelievers. There will also be different degrees of rewards for believers who will be judged according to their works. See 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 for what the apostle Paul said about this.
